Friday 16th June 2017
Following the success of the first Equine Careers Event at Enniskillen Campus in June 2016, and the extremely positive feedback we received from the teachers and pupils, we have decided to hold another event for School pupils to inform them of the exciting opportunities an equine career can offer.
CAFRE Enniskillen Graduates are:
Positive: about their practical and academic abilities.
Assured: that they have excellent contacts in the equine industry through work placements, bursaries and internships.
Inspired: by industry recognition of their qualification and the opportunity to develop and share their own equine research.
At CAFRE Enniskillen Campus the Equine Industry supports our students with over £10,000 of bursaries annually while over 90% of our degree graduates are in employment or continuing their education within 6 months of completing a course. Higher Education tuition fees are also only £1555 (2016/17) and there are no tuition fees for Further Education students studying at CAFRE. CAFRE Enniskillen Campus provides students with a highly rated qualification which they complete within a beautiful and specialised campus environment.
At the end of a hard year’s school work, we’d like to invite Year 11 pupils to an outdoor, fun day highlighting opportunities for careers in the equine industry. Although primarily planned for Year 11, Year 13 or 14 pupils who are still undecided about their future and are interested in working with animals or specifically equines would also be welcome.
Pupils will take part in interactive demonstrations based on the following themes:
- Equestrian simulators
- Forging a career in farriery.
- The Racing Industry
- The horse as an athlete.
- Equine biomechanics
The event is planned for 11am-1pm, followed by lunch (available to purchase) in the Campus restaurant or pupils are welcome to picnic on the Campus grounds or in the main conference hall.
If you haven’t visited Enniskillen Campus before you are in for a treat, and if you have, you’ll know what great facilities we have for you and your pupils to enjoy. Further information about the programme will be sent out to schools who have booked by email.
Please complete and return the booking form enclosed by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 10 March 2017. Due to the anticipated demand for this event early booking is advisable.
