    Home Library

Welcome to the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School Library webpage. The school has two libraries, one on the Cooper Crescent site and one on the Lough Shore site. This webpage provides information about the opening hours, what the libraries offer, how to use them, access to Eclipse (Library management system) and news of library events.

Students are welcome to use the libraries before, during and after school. The libraries are great places to meet other students, get help with homework, study or read. There are lots of activities and events planned throughout the year (see below).

    Opening Hours

The Library Opens at 8:30 am

    C.C – closes 4.30pm Mon to Fri

    L.S – closes 4.30pm Mon to Thurs, 3.30pm Friday

(Libraries may have to close at certain times throughout the day – please refer to closure notices on the library door)

    What the libraries offer:

Apart from the obvious resources such as books, newspapers, magazines, online resources and DVDs the following are available in both libraries:

    • Study facilities including open access at break and lunch time for all students
    • Computers, iPads, printing and photocopying facilities
    • Curriculum Support – access to resources, computers/i-pads and space for teaching groups
    • KS3 reading classes
    • Stationery shop

    How to use the libraries:

Key stage 3/4 Students can borrow 3 items for 3 weeks. Sixth form students may borrow up to 6 items for 3 weeks. Staff can borrow resources also.

A list of overdues is generated every Wednesday and e-mailed to tutors or printed for students. A comment will be placed in student planner if the item(s) are not returned. Individual overdues will then follow, after which a letter will be sent to parents. Replacement costs will be requested for any item(s) lost or damaged.

Students can request item(s) through the Librarian or through Eclipse.

    Eclipse (Library management software):

Eclipse is the computer software programme used by the Librarians to issue/return book. All students and staff have access to Eclipse through My School and can check stock, read book blurb/reviews and request item(s). In addition there are features such as Book of the Week, Who Next and Author video clips.

A resounding well done to the class of 2026 in Enniskillen Royal Grammar School who have secured their places in a wide range of university pathways on the strength of their very good performance at A level across twenty-eight subjects. These strong results are a fitting tribute to the hard work and perseverance of our pupils, together with the support of their teachers and parents.

Twenty-five pupils have at least three A grades and almost quarter of the cohort have at least one A* in their portfolio.

Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Success

Congratulations to this year's Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award participants, who successfully completed their Gold Qualifying Expedition last week.

Over four days, the groups trekked approximately 80 km through the stunning but demanding Mourne Mountains. Throughout both their training and qualifying expeditions, they demonstrated exceptional determination, resilience and commitment, overcoming every challenge they encountered with positivity and perseverance.

The teams went from strength to strength as the expedition progressed, showing outstanding character, teamwork and attitude no matter what they faced. Their ability to support one another and work together impressed both the expedition leaders and assessor, who praised the high standard they maintained throughout.

It would not have been possible without the support, guidance and encouragement of all the leaders involved, and we would like to thank them sincerely for helping to make this achievement possible.

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with this fantastic group of young people over the past 12 months. They have been outstanding ambassadors for the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School Duke of Edinburgh Award and should be incredibly proud of everything they have achieved.

Congratulations to everyone on this outstanding accomplishment. We are extremely proud of you all!
