We were delighted to welcome Paul Young (Trumpet) and Martin Wall (French Horn) from the Ulster Orchestra to school on Wednesday 15th March. They provided two workshops for a number of our wind players including our KS3 Woodwind Ensemble and a number of GCSE Ensembles. Later in the afternoon a number of individual A Level wind players performed as part of a Masterclass, gaining some expert tips and advice around performance issues which should prove highly beneficial as the pupils prepare for A level practical recitals. Soloists included Chloe Eagleson, Hannah Hall, Stephen Humphreys, Kathryn Malone and Emma-Leah Peters. Overall it was a great day of music making and we hope to work with professional musicians from the Ulster Orchestra again in the not too distant future!
