Introduction
Religious Studies seeks to educate the whole person and encourages pupils to think about life in an open-minded way. It encourages skills of reading and writing as well as discussion and debating.
It gives pupils an opportunity to be tolerant and to respect the views of others, aiming to concentrate on similarities as well as differences.
Pupils examine key concepts in light of the six major world religions – Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism.
It also prepares pupils for the world of work and our A2 pupils in the past have followed careers such as Dietetics, Medicine, Social work and Teaching to name but a few.
