Continuing on the partnership established in 1979 between Clongowes Wood College and Portora Royal School, representatives from Clongowes Wood College joined us on Friday 10th November to participate in our Remembrance Day service. During the service, prayers were led by our head prefects, the head prefect from St Michaels College and a prefect from Clongowes Wood College. Then the Head Boy from CWC laid a wreath at the memorial, outside the Steele Hall to commemorate the young men from Clongowes Wood College who gave their lives during the First World War. Wreaths were also laid by our Head Boy and Girl, and Brigadier John Graham, president of the Old Portora Union. After the service the CWC students were given a tour of the Loughshore Campus by Year 13 pupils. Following lunch, the students from Clongowes traveled to Cooper Crescent and accompanied Year 13 students to lessons. We very much look forward to meeting again in March for the annual residential trip to Clongowes Wood College.
