Enniskillen knew that Castlederg would be a tough team to beat. The first half was very tight between Enniskillen and Castlederg as expected but at the start of second half Castlederg had pushback, Kirstie Harron then went in with a strong tackle, giving us possession. She dribbled to the 23m line and passed through to Hannah Shaw who then passed the ball along to Leonora Bell who was on the left post and slipped it into the bottom left hand corner of the goal, giving Enniskillen the lead. Castlederg had a few attacks on goal but the defence of Sarah Murray, Katie Dean, Fiona Knowles and Rebekah Walmsley stopped and cleared the shots on goal. The goalkeeper Rebecca Nicholl stepped up to play firsts in the absence of our usual keeper and did an excellent job of kicking away shots and intimidating the opposition. Carmen Evans, Kirstie Harron, Alex Kernaghan and Leonora Bell played the ball well getting it away from defence and up to the forwards, for Jade Mcmullan, Lucy Thompson and Hannah Shaw, to have a chance to shoot on goal. It was a very tough game and Enniskillen did well to come out with a win and we’d like to thank Castlederg for a good and fair game.
