The ABP Angus Youth Challenge team held a very successful Cookery Demonstration Evening on Thursday 28th March where the generosity of the audience and sponsors resulted in £900-50 being raised for the team’s chosen charity, Air Ambulance NI.
The event was held just prior to Beef Week (1st – 7th April) with the intention of showing the audience how nutritious and versatile beef is as part of a healthy, balanced diet.
The ABP Angus Youth Challenge team are indebted to Mrs Liz Brown, Livestock and Meat Commission, for demonstrating a range of dishes using Aberdeen Angus Beef. Mr Hugh McGaghan, ABP, supported Liz with a short demonstration on ‘how to cook the perfect Aberdeen Angus steak.’
It was a pleasure to have Mr George Mullan, Managing Director of ABP Food Group NI, and Mr Alan Morrison, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Aberdeen Angus Club in the audience.
Following the demonstration, a raffle was held, and sincere appreciation is extended to those who donated raffle prizes: AMac Plumbing, Armstrong’s Pharmacy, Lemon’s Accountancy, Irvine’s Butchery, Kettyleirish, Kolor & Kutz, Mr Sammy Nixon, Richardson’s Butchery, Skea Flowers and the Vaughan Trust.
Refreshments were served after the demonstration where people had the opportunity to mingle with the ERGS ABP Angus Youth Challenge Team.
A sincere thank you to all who contributed to the success of the evening.
