On Thursday 30th January The Year 13 and Year 14 Performing arts students braved the wet and wild weather and headed to The Glens Centre, Manor Hamilton for a master class in auditioning and preparing their promotional portfolio.
A bespoke Masterclass, catered to the demands of the A level specification, students had the opportunity to get invaluable expert feedback on their audition pieces from Kat Woods ( playwright), Declan Drohan ( Drama lecturer Sligo IT) Brendan Murray( artistic director The Glens Centre). They then shared their showreels and design portfolios with Geraldine Mc Alinden (who recently starred in ‘Ordinary Love’), Sinead O’Donnell Carey (Lecturer in Design at UU) and Niall Rea (Lecturer In Theatre Design Sligo IT).
William Manley (Y14) commented ‘I did not expect the level of individual feedback I received. It was invaluable. I am excited to now get back at it and apply it to my own work.’
