On Friday 3rd December morning the u14s finally get to play the 3rd ever match after a covid delay!
Both teams started brightly with some end to end hockey. On 12 mins, a break from Anna Cairns set up Laura Cashel for a clean strike on goal flying past the keeper; 1-0 to ERGS.
Both teams continued to play soon excellent end to end hockey. A quick break from Omagh caught ERGS by surprise and lead to Omagh equalising just before half time.
The second half, once again started brightly but the ERGS team knew that they had the winning of the match. Another quick break from Anna Johnston on the right and a cross into the circle allowed Lauren McCordick to tap the ball around the keeper for a 2-1 lead. It was a nervous final 5 minutes as ERGS looked to stay ahead.
At the final whistle there was great excitement as the team recorded their first goals and first win of their hockey careers. Well done to the whole team!
