The year 8 girls travelled to Cookstown on Wednesday to take part in a competition organised by Foyle Grammar school. Our girls were drawn in a very tough group consisting of Omagh Academy, Sligo, who were a full year older and Castlederg. Our first game was against Castlederg who had beaten ERGS 3-0 in a previous encounter. This was a closely contested game with a draw being a fair result. A vast improvement on our earlier performance. The next two matches resulted in narrow defeats but there were many positives, not least the levels of skill displayed throughout the tournament. The commitment cannot be questioned and with training sessions planned on an AstroTurf surface the girls will be a match for anyone in the future. Well done!
