Congratulations to Raine Allen and Angel Huang, Year 14, who recently received CINIUU (Confucius Institute for Northern Ireland University of Ulster) Classroom Young Ambassador Awards in recognition of their dedication and hard work in learning Mandarin Chinese through South-West College’s Confucius Hub. The pupils were presented with their prestigious awards at an event in Belfast City Hall where they enjoyed entertainment portraying Chinese culture, traditional Irish music and dance as well as being treated to a performance by the Ulster University choir. Traditional Chinese food was provided for lunch in the beautiful surroundings of the City Hall in the presence of Mme ZHANG Meifang, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Belfast.
Mandarin Chinese lessons are delivered in Enniskillen Royal Grammar School as a Sixth Form Enrichment activity on a Wednesday and as an extra-curricular activity on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons each week. Our sincere thanks go to the work being done with the pupils by the Mandarin Tutors, Ms CHEN Ying and Ms YONGXIN Ning.
