On Friday the 9th of December, Year 14 pupils, Scarlett Keys, Niamh Johnston, Laura Turner and Rachel Cullinan organised a Year 8 Inter–House Colour Run for their A2 Sports Science and the Active Leisure Industry coursework. Due to the weather they were forced to use their contingency plan. They originally planned for the Colour Run to take place on the Lough Shore rugby pitches but after conducting a risk assessment they came to the conclusion that the pitch was unsafe to use for the run. Instead, they decided to relocate it to the Cooper Crescent Hockey pitches. They set out obstacles around the perimeter of the track and at each obstacle they had a colour throwing station. The pupils were set off in their Houses to prevent congestion at each obstacle.
After the run the pupils were brought back to the Assembly Hall where prizes were awarded for, ‘The pupils covered in the most colour‘ (plenty of contender for that one!) and ‘The fastest boy and girl.’ The fastest girl was awarded to Maeve Rolston-McAuliffe and The fastest boy was awarded to Luca Hall.
A huge well done and thank you to the Yr14 team for orgainsing such an enjoyable event for Year 8 as we approach the end of term. Stay posted next week for the final Christmas House Totals at then end of the Autumn Term.
