At the beginning of December, we escaped the wind and rain as Mrs McDowell’s latest highly successful Senior Drama Production transported us to sunny Brighton in 1963 to meet Francis Henshall and the other small-time gangsters of Richard Bean’s hit West End play, ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ staged against the captivating backdrop of Jon Kelly’s imaginative set.
The play is a modern adaptation of the Commedia dell’Arte play ‘The Servant of Two Masters’ and the talented cast and musicians, together with the skilled backstage crew brought verve and energy to the production with its fast-paced combination of mistaken identity, love, and slapstick. Just the thing to escape the winter gloom and another dramatic triumph for Mrs McDowell and her Senior Drama team, hot on the heels of last year’s production, Amadeus.
