On Friday the 10th of January our Yr14 Sports studies students hosted the ‘Brighter Futures’ Primary school indoor cross community football tournament at the Lakeland Forum .
The Tournament saw 8 local schools represented including; Moat PS, Model PS, Erne Integrated PS, St Patricks Mullnaskea, Holy Trinity, Lisbellaw PS, St. Ronan’s Lisnaskea.
David McDaniel, Timothy Sadlier, Luke Johnston, Samuel Frazer where the main organisers of the event as part of the A2 coursework this year. Cian Brady was also on hand as first aider, whilst Kyle Malone and Keelan Flanagan applied their years of experience on and off the field to referee the matches.
Through a number of hotly contested heats and hard fought semi finals, the Model defeated Erne Integrated in the final on penalties after a drawn game. Jones Memorial finished in third place after defeating Lisbellaw in a play off.
Trophy and medals were presented by Corrina Collum from the Lisbellaw Medical Hall who sponsored the event and it was great to also have Ballinamallard’s Harry McConkey in site for support and to talk to players.
