Saturday 11th March saw the U13 squad head down to Kildare for the annual Clongowes Wood U14 Tournament where they took on some of Leinster’s best. The first game of the morning was against St Michaels College Dublin who were tipped as the likely tournament winners and did not disappoint as they promptly scored 6 tries within the 15 minute time limit of the game. Unfortunately this set the tone for much of the morning as the ERGS boys faced some of the best teams Leinster had to offer. There was however a glimmer of hope in the semifinals of the plate competition when we drew the Clongowes B team but unfortunately there just wasn’t enough time left on the clock to score the vital points necessary to earn a place in the final.
A valiant display from all involved considering the quality and size of the opposition.
