The Senior XI had a positive start to the season dominating possession in their game against Cookstown High School. However, the Cookstown goal keeper proved impossible to pass and then with only 8 minutes to go a controversial decision let Cookstown score against the run of play. Final score ending 0-1. However a lot of positives can be taken from what was a young senior side.
The two junior teams also put in a positive effort. The U14s were seriously depleted in numbers and as a result a number of U13 players kindly made the jump up to play a tough Cookstown side. Lack of experience resulted in a heavy defeat although there were signs of clear potential for the season ahead. The U13s played some very positive hockey and were unlucky to concede 3 soft goals.
With a break now for a couple of weeks until the next fixture the girls will be able to put in some more practice before they take on Royal and Prior Raphoe at the beginning of October.
