Excellent Work Celebration Gallery, 8th May 2020

    By Enniskillen Royal | Latest News | Comments are Closed | 8 May, 2020 | 0

This week’s entries to the Celebration Gallery demonstrate some of the fantastic work and independent learning being done by ERGS pupils as they remain in lockdown but keen to keep their learning going. Don’t worry if your work isn’t included this week as teachers have been sending through all kinds of material that we will keep uploading over the coming days and weeks.

Year 8 Weather Stations – The Geography department have been using an army of Year 8s to record the lockdown weather conditions in Fermanagh over the last month. Some ingenious and original designs have been appearing daily on Google Classroom – Well done to all those you have taken part and submitted their designs and please check out Ethan’s Instructions and Natalie’s video below the image – Mr Mason

If you fancy building your own Rain Gauge for the bank holiday weekend – click below to read Ethan Downey’s very helpful instructions.

Ethan Downey – Plastic Bottle Rain Gauge

Natalie Dowha’s home made thermometer, researched and made for everyday kitchen items, and with demo video is simply superb!!!

The Ks3 Green Entrepreneur Challenge set by the LLW department has yielded some pretty creative products for lockdown. The challenge was to design and construct a prototype product from recyclable materials that people would buy and use around the home. – Ms Stephenson

Two lovely poems form Year 9 pupils Maddison Blair and Ashling Man – Mr Colhoun

Mrs Rees was delighted with the 9C’s creative storyboards. The class were asked to change the locations of Willy Russell’s play ‘Our Day Our’ to Northern  Ireland – how lovely to see some of our tourist spots when we can’t visit them at the minute.  Here are just a few great examples, from Kyle, Ella, Alex and Emily, of the level of creativity and imaginative ideas they came up with – Mrs Rees

Yr10 Clay Tiles -These wonderful pieces were set in the kiln just before lockdown and quite a nice surprise for the Art Department to discover the other week.

Yr10 HE – Elisha, Kerri, Lucie, Will (aka Miss McFlubberty) and Cameron have all been exercising their consumer rights through the  HE curriculum as they take on Play.com over faulty goods and unsatisfactory customer service. – Mrs Wynne

Yr10 Mathematics – Year 10 pupils continue to engage daily with their Maths curriculum and regularly send in some excellent examples of their work and learning – Mrs Downey

Year 11 Geographers have been working hard on revision mind maps – here are two great examples from Emily Morton and Hannah Campbell –  Mr McGonagle

Yr11 Drama Students Catherine Flemming and Ethan Maguire embraced Mrs Rees’s challenge for International Dance Day 2020 exploring Dance styles… the videos speek for themselves!!

    Catherine Flemming        AND        Ethan Maguire

AS English Students are studying the text ‘Frankenstein’. Pupils were asked to use the Anki App or card to make revision cards for the character of Victor and the creature which they can then use to help in the completion of an exam style question (and develop essay writing technique for next year). Lucy Ellis sent in this great example of one of her cards – Miss Mulligan

Coming up next week we can look forward to GCSE LLW, more English work from Year 8, some impressive physics research by year 10 and much more.
