This year’s Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award group successfully completed their Gold expedition at the end of August. Their 4 day adventure took them across the Mourne Mountains, covering approximately 80 km.
The leaders and assessor were very impressed with the group’s positive attitude, enthusiasm, commitment, perseverance and ability to work as part of a team which the groups displayed throughout their training and qualifying expedition.
The teams faced many challenges, including poor weather conditions and tough terrain during their training weekends in Fermanagh and 4 day expedition in the Mourne mountains. These highly determined and motivated pupils took it all in their stride and rose to every challenge they met.
