Our Year 10 pupils attended a Careers Expo today at South West College, marking the first event of its kind for the Fermanagh Learning Community.
There was a wide range of exhibitors, including representatives from Queen’s University and Ulster University, alongside further education providers such as South West College and CAFRE. Pupils also had the opportunity to engage with a variety of local employers and industry partners, including organisations sch as Mannok, ENCIRC and Bank of Ireland, as well as a number of other agencies, giving them a broad and valuable insight into future education, training and career pathways.
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by our pupils, who engaged exceptionally well throughout, showing real maturity and curiosity as they explored a wide range of future options. Events like this are a vital part of encouraging our young people to start thinking seriously about their career aspirations at this important stage.
This event forms part of our wider preparation for the GCSE Options Programme, helping students to make informed and thoughtful decisions about the subjects they will be choosing in the coming weeks.
A very special word of thanks must go to Dessie Gamble, Fermanagh Learning Community Coordinator, whose hard work and dedication ensured such a successful and well-organised event. Well done also to our Year 10s for representing ERGS so positively.
