The year 9 groups that participated in the STEM Faraday challenge on Monday 27th January had a excellent learning experience and a lot of fun. The groups were tasked with designing and engineering a device that could be marketed either, to sports/outdoor activity enthusiasts, or, as a children’s toy, or, to disability groups. 9A developed the winning design – a cup that would alert blind people when they had added enough water but a close second was 9C’s vest that sounded an alarm when a fell runner/walker had fallen over.
