The Ulster University are carrying out an Aflo Asthma study and have asked that information is circulated to pupils and parents. See below link to the study where you can register online.
Basically the study aims to: Test the functionality and impact of automated inhaler technique with real-time feedback, adherence prompts and air quality data sharing for patients who use metered dose inhalers (MDI) using the newly developed aflo™ digital respiratory management platform. A secondary objective will assess the impact of using the platform on asthma symptom control as measured by the Asthma Control Test. The study population will have adherence/symptom control issues. Ethical approval has been granted for this study.
The school will get £25 per person recruited and the person will get a £20 voucher. We will see participants in our clinic in Derry~Londonderry, Belfast and at the Human intervention suite at Ulster University, Coleraine. However, if there are a significant number from a particular area we are happy to go to them.
