Year 14 Technology & Design pupils took some time away from the books and coursework today to visit ENCIRC Glass Factory in Derrylin. We received a very warm welcome and were given a full tour of the factory where we could see first hand the production of Glass bottles from raw materials to finished product. They took time to explain to the pupils what procedures they take to help make the production more sustainable and less energy intensive. Much of this is covered in the exam content in Year 14 so it was great to see it first hand. We were then treated to some goodies and a lovely lunch by the staff looking after us.
