Saturday 22nd October saw the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School Showjumpers up at The Meadows Equestrian Centre again for Week 3 of the Inter School Tri-Equestrian League.
This week we entered two different classes. We entered the Novice class (85cm) and the Open Class (1m).
The two teams jumped well despite some different combinations of team members and horses and riders!
In the Novice class – Hannah Jones and Rocket jumped a lovely double clear round in quite a fast time; Tiana-Grace Abbott rode twice on different horses ( in order to make up a team of 4) – lovely jumping, but unfortunately she knocked 2 poles on Bracken Dancer and one on Echo. Sasha Milne and a tired Buddy ( he had a competition the night before) had a few poles down, but in their first school competition for a while…a good round. Overall, although not placed, the team were able to take many positives from this Leg.
In the Open Class, Patrick Williams was first to jump on William – he was going really well but just clipped a pole in the 2nd phase (this being the timed part of the round). Then came his sister Sophia on Clonlee Red River, a lovely round with a fast time and a double clear. Next up was Natalie – an excellent ride on ISHD Convoy, double clear and another fast time. Finally, Sophia was up again on William- a bit tired, he knocked 2 poles down in phase 1 (the untimed part of the round), but she got him round in phase 2 all clear.
As it stands, we haven’t heard if we have placed in the top 6 yet, time will tell how we fare. Overall, another good day for ERGS jumpers. Well done all, and thanks for all parental support as ever!
