A warm welcome to our new Year 8 pupils

It has been a real pleasure getting to know our new Year 8 pupils since their arrival at ERGS and seeing them begin to settle into life at their new school, make new friends and find their way around.

Our Year 14 pupils have also really enjoyed welcoming our newest pupils and helping them to settle in.

We hope you all have a lovely and well-earned weekend, and we look forward to seeing you again on Monday!

    Community Champion – Congratulations Finlay!
Huge congratulations to Finlay Bell, Year 12, who was named Youth Community Champion of the Year at the Impartial Reporter Community Champions Awards last night.
Finlay received the award in recognition of his fantastic fundraising efforts through the Spooktacular Run, raising an incredible £2,400 for Women’s Aid in memory of his fellow pupils, James and Sara Rutledge.
We are incredibly proud of Finlay for showing such compassion, determination and community spirit. This is a very well-deserved recognition of his efforts to make a positive difference to others.
Congratulations, Finlay, from everyone at ERGS!

Health & Social Care Careers Talk

Mrs Ferreira and our Year 13 and 14 Health & Social Care students were delighted to welcome back former ERGS pupil and Deputy Head Girl, Olivia Black, to speak about her career journey and the important role Health & Social Care has played along the way.

Olivia spoke engagingly about the many transferable skills she developed through studying Health & Social Care and how these have supported her at university, as well as the knowledge and understanding she is now drawing upon as she works towards becoming a teacher.

She also shared some of the lessons she wishes she had learned earlier, offering students practical advice and some excellent tips for succeeding not only in Health & Social Care, but in life beyond school.

Olivia’s enthusiasm, warmth and honesty made a real impression on our students. Her message about always striving to do your best, and being proud & satisfied when you know you have given your best effort, was particularly inspiring.

A huge thank you to Olivia for giving her time to return to ERGS and share her experiences with our students. It is always wonderful to welcome back former pupils and see them inspiring those following in their footsteps.

We are delighted to see the hard work and perseverance of our GCSE pupils and their teachers rewarded in our strong GCSE results. The class of 2026 have achieved a very strong set of results where three quarters of all grades were at A*-B . Almost half of the year group have five A* or five A grades or better. Behind these excellent headline statistics each pupil has their own individual story of achievement and challenges successfully met. They should all be very proud of their journey to date, and we know there is much more success to come. Pictured are some of our top 2026 GCSE achievers.🎉 ... See MoreSee Less
