The Enniskillen Royal Grammar School’s Year 9 and Year 10/11 boys football teams enjoyed a very successful day on Wednesday 19th October at the IFA Futsal tournament at the Lakeland Forum. Both teams won all their group matches against opposition from Devenish College, St. Joseph’s College, and Fivemiletown College in imperious fashion, with impressive performances and convincing scorelines all round. The Year 9 team went on to meet Devenish in the final, where they put in a superb performance, winning 5-0. They will now advance on to the national finals at a venue and date to be confirmed soon. Unfortunately, the Year 10/11 team finished runners-up after playing Devenish once again in the final. They had previously beaten Devenish 4-1 in the group stage, only to draw 2-2, and then lose 3-2 on penalties. Overall, a great day of sport and lots of strong performances from the boys, which bodes extremely well for the future: Perstare et Praestare.
