A cracking day for Cricket as the U13 travelled up the road to Armagh to play their first game of the season, a QF v The Royal School.
Captain L Hall won the toss & elected to put the opposition into bat. D Fisher was best of the bowlers with 2 wickets for 6 runs off his allocated 4 overs. S Little picked up another 2 wickets, with L McIvor & H Breen also picking up a wicket each. Some exceptional fielding from J Rutledge with two splendid catches at deep mid wicket. A one handed catch to save a 6 on the leg side short boundary was worthy of a Sky Sports highlight! ERGS restricted RSA to 94 for 6 off the alloted 20 overs.
The ERGS innings started slowly with a couple of run-outs and the batsmen facing a particularly good fast right arm over RSA bowler. Despite a couple of boundaries from L Hall & D Fisher, ERGS were bowled out for 27 off 12 overs
Result RSA won by 67 runs with ERGS going into the Plate competition.
