A’ level English Literature and Performing Arts students had the opportunity to travel to the Gate Theatre, Dublin to watch a stunning performance of Shakespeare’s King Lear.
The production was a powerful exploration of Shakespeare’s themes of power, betrayal, and madness, offering students a unique chance to see the text brought vividly to life on stage. The performance provided invaluable insight into the play’s dramatic impact, characterisation, and stagecraft – key elements for both subjects.
A fantastic day was had by all, with students leaving inspired by the outstanding performances and production design. The experience will no doubt enrich their studies and deepen their appreciation of Shakespeare’s work.
