On Thursday 27th November 2025 we celebrated the many successes and notable achievements of our pupils in both their academic studies and in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We were delighted that so many of our 2025 leavers were able to return to join in these celebrations in the beautiful setting of St Macartin’s Cathedral.
Our Guest of Honour was Graham Little, Broadcaster and Producer. Graham Little was educated at Portora Royal School and Loughborough University and has worked in various media roles for the last 25 years. He began at The Impartial Reporter in Enniskillen before a stint as a sports reporter and presenter at UTV in Belfast. Since going freelance in 2006 he has worked as a writer, presenter and producer. He has appeared on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky Sports, Eurosport and others, but is currently best known as an anchor presenter of Premier Sports’ rugby coverage. He also produces documentaries for broadcasters like the BBC, Channel 4 and RTÉ. He has also published two sports adventure books.
In a lively, humorous, and inspiring address Graham drew heavily on his formative and happy years at Portora Royal School; he encouraged the pupils to choose wisely those who they allow to influence them. He drew a clear distinction between those who influence positively such as family members, teachers and school staff and school friends as opposed to modern influencers whom they only know through social media. He also encouraged them to savour their school days and to be present in every moment to make the most of the opportunities it provides.
Warmest congratulations to all our prize winners for living up so well to our School motto: to persevere to excel. Perstare et Praestare.
