School Council took a lead in marking Anti-Bullying Week by responding to a request from our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to consult on the school’s recently updated Anti-Bullying Policy. Council members worked in Year Groups to discuss the following questions and then present their opinions succinctly and creatively in poster format.
- What is bullying?
- How widespread is bullying across your Year Group?
- How widespread is bullying across our whole school?
- Would you tell someone that you were being bullied? If so, who would you tell?
- How do you respond if you feel that you are being bullied?
- What procedures does the school have in place to deal with bullying?
- How could we as a school prevent bullying?
- What is needed to help the bully and the victim move forward after the bullying has stopped?
- Any other comments you would like to make on bullying?
This model is being rolled out across the whole school this week so that a breadth of opinions on bullying can be gathered before taking the findings back to SLT.
