    Belfast Sprints Regatta

    ERBC had great success at Belfast Sprints Regatta on Saturday winning 13 categories over the 500m course on the River Lagan. In MJ14 4X+ both Eli Irvine and Louis McIvor and Oliver Collins and Levi Thompson when won their straight finals. Next it was a win for the MJ15 4X+ of Noah Corrigan, Albie Cluff, Ethan Vance, Finlay Bell and cox Nicole Graham against the crew from Bann RC.
    Olivia Muras, Beth Bradley, Holly Shaw, Sophie Collum and cox Hannah Keaney overcame the challenge from Newry RC to win their final by a large margin.
    The Women’s Junior 14 coxed quad of Nicole Graham, Kaityln Read, Clodagh Donaghy, Maeve Rolston McAuliffe and cox Leah Topping won by 3 lengths over the girls from Bann RC.
    The 2 Junior 14 Octuples who are going to Nottingham to compete at National Schools Regatta this week both won their races. The boys Josh Allen, Eli Irvine, George Elliott, Oliver Collins, Albie Cluff, Louis McIvor, Levi Thompson and cox Luke Fivey had a great win over Coleraine GS by 3.5 lengths. The girls – Nicole Graham, Kaityln Read, Clodagh Donaghy, Maeve Rolston McAuliffe, Oliwia Muras, Hannah Keaney, Beth Bradley, Michaela Ihnat and cox Leah had a very tight race against Methodist RC but thankfully they crossed the line first.
    Maeve Rolston McAuliffe and Clodagh Donaghy and Michaela Ihnat and Hannah Keaney both won their WJ14 2X finals.
    Next up it was a win for Josh Allen, George Elliott, Oliver Collins, Levi Thompson and cox Freya McNeary in the Men’s Junior 14 Coxed Quad category over the boys from Bann RC by 3 lengths. One of the other J14 quad then went on to win their final. The crew were Eli Irvine, Albie Cluff, Louis McIvor, Finlay Bell and cox  Noah Corrigan.
    Benjamin Johnston, Harvey Simmons, Jacob Johnston, Jack Cuthbertson and cox Lucas Abercrombie had a great race over the crew from Newry RC winning by 1/3 of a length.
    The second girls Junior 14 Octuple lifted the last set of medals of the event bringing the total of the day to 13. The crew were Mylene Leonard, Heidi Boyle, Cat Starett, Martha McCreesh, Muireann Cassidy, Sophie Latimer, Ellie McCauley and cox Maeve Rolston McAuliffe.
    The Senior crews trained at home last weekend in preparation for National Schools Regatta which take place at Holme Pierrpont, Nottingham. We have 2 Junior 14 crews racing at the event on Friday with the 2 Champs Eights racing on Saturday and Sunday.
