On Friday evening past, 27th February, our school Brass Band had the opportunity to perform at the Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown. This was part of a concert and competition weekend run by ‘Brass Bands NI’. The concert on Friday evening was to celebrate local bands all performing without any competitive element.
Enniskillen Royal GS Brass Band performed three pieces under the direction of Mr S Magee, including some ragtime and march music.
The pupils had worked hard to perfect their performances and principal cornet player on the evening was Anna Little. Our school band performed first to open the concert and was then followed by Roughan Youth Band, Ballyreagh Silver Band, Churchill Silver Band, Maguiresbridge Band and the Championship section local Murley Silver Band from Fivemiletown. Many of our pupils also play in local bands so it was great to see them performing twice alongside former pupils who still belong to bands throughout Fermanagh.
