ERBC had a very successful trip to Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham last weekend with 4 crews competing at British National Schools Regatta. The crews raced against the top rowing schools in the UK, this is the biggest Junior regatta in the world with over 5000 rowers taking part. All 4 crews qualified for finals after their morning time trials, 3 of those were A finals.
On Friday the WJ14 Octuple crew – Leah Topping (cox) Nicole Graham, Kaitlyn Read, Clodagh Donaghy, Maeve Rolston McAuliffe, Hannah Keaney, Oliwia Muras, Michaela Ihnat, Beth Bradley won bronze medals after a great race in the final and they were absolutely delighted.
The MJ14 Octuple crew, Joshua Allen, Eli Irvine, George Elliott, Oliver Collins, Luke Fivey (cox) Albie Cluff, Louis McIvor, Levi Thompson, Finlay Bell were very unlucky to miss out on medals, finishing 4th in the A final. The event was won by Radley College.
The weather played havoc with Saturday and Sunday’s racing with organisers having to cancel Sunday’s racing altogether.
Men’s Champs Eights – Abbey Wilson (cox) Evan Donaghy, Ryan Topping, Luke Bailey, Austin Cassidy, Christian Timoney, Andrew Cuthbertson, William Bogle and Lorcan Sreenivasan were 2nd in their final in a time of 6.42.63.
