An incredibly entertaining and competitive game was played this afternoon on the Eisenhower Playing Fields.
We hosted Royal School Armagh to celebrate our 150th year of rugby in what was a repeat of the very first fixture played in 1874. Armagh won the match 150 years ago and also triumphed this afternoon by a score line of 19-17.
Both squads used over 30 players and the game was a spectacle for the large crowd on Castle Lane.
Tries from Caleb Haire, Josh Ovens and Clarke Balfour and a conversion from Sam Paton.
Clarke Balfour was the standout performer and given man of the match with Encirc today’s match sponsor. We thank Encirc and all of our other sponsors for the ongoing support which is invaluable in the running of the rugby club.
Next week we have a full block of fixtures from U13 up to 1st XV playing Omagh Academy with all games being played down in Omagh at Campsie. See you then
