We had fun and celebrations galore to celebrate World Book Day on Algeo Drive. The Booky Bake off was a huge success and the standard of bakes even higher than ever. Enormous thanks to Emelija Lauze 9D whose cake entry was so impressive that we decided to raffle it to raise money for our pulmonary fibrosis charity. The lucky raffle winner was Clara Leonard 9E – congratulations Clara! The top prize was awarded to Jori Medani 9D for her Red Riding Hood creation and a few additional runners up were singled out by the judges. These were: Lena Gorczynska 8A (Winnie the Pooh), Emily Scott 9C (Anne of Green Gables), Daniel Taylor 8C (The Cruel Prince) and Zoe Wallington Forde (Booky Brownies). All will receive book voucher prizes.
The highly colourful Book Swap stall was hugely popular with something for all book tastes and of course a few book character costumes to add colour to the day.
Huge thanks and well done to everyone who supported our World Book Day extravaganza today. All proceeds will go to Pulmonary Fibrosis N.I.
