A large number of Enniskillen Royal GS pupils recently competed in both Instrumental and Vocal classes at Fermanagh Feis as part of the ‘Classical & Contemporary Music’ Section. These were hosted at Jones Memorial Primary School and were adjudicated by Jonathan Rea who has a wealth of experience as a Music Teacher, Examiner and Adjudicator as well as having worked with a number of Choirs and Orchestras across the province. Jonathan’s adjudication critiques were well received by the competitors who will now be able to build on their positive performance experiences going forward as young musicians. In addition to a wide range of successful results (see below) we had two outstanding performances which were given Special Recognition: Abbey Wilson in Year 11 as an Outstanding Vocalist (Year 11 & 12 Vocal Class) and Yoly Brannigan in Year 12 as an Outstanding Instrumentalist (Grade 7 & 8 Strings Class). It is great to have live music competitions back and congratulations to all of our competitors who shared their talents. Well done to all of them!
Roberta Bailie, Secretary for the Classical and Contemporary Music section was delighted with the standard and presentation of all the competitors.
“It is wonderful to see and hear young people making music together – there is nothing like a live performance.”
