We are delighted to see one of our Year 8 pupils, Ruby Donald from Sion Swifts Ladies and Girls FC has been selected for the prestigious Electric Ireland National Performance Programme after going through the different rigorous stages.
This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to her hard work, dedication, and exceptional skills on the pitch.
The NPP is a renowned development pathway that nurtures the brightest young footballing talents in Northern Ireland. Being part of this programme is a huge honour and a stepping stone towards greater heights.
Ruby and her team mates also took part in the recent Armagh City Easter Cup with 16 teams taking part. They were in a very strong group alongside Tristar, Lurgan Town, and Loughall Lakers. The girls dug deep to put in amazing performances and scored some spectacular goals along the way to their victorious final! 3 wins out of 3 placed them in the top group. They then beat the hosts Armagh City in an exciting semi-final to set up a fantastic final against a well-organised Castlewellan side. This went to sudden death penalties where the girls courageously stepped up and took the Cup and the honour of the celebrations!!!
