Congratulations to Barry Hutchinson (Year 13) and Owen McKinley (Year 14) who were awarded Team of the Year at the Final of the Northern Ireland Schools Debating Competition at Belfast City Hall last month where Owen was also chosen as a participant in the Best Individual Speaker Competition with the motion, This House blames baby boomers for the state of the world today. The duo also received certificates for reaching the Semi-Finals where they were defeated by Campbell College who went on to win the competition. Well done to all of the Debate Club pupils this year who dared to step outside their com fort zone and venture into the debating world. We look forward to many more adventures next term.
