Congratulations to all those who took part in the e-district athletics on Friday. We had a super day weather-wise and not too bad on the success front either.
Due to many reasons – namely other commitments and examinations or injury, we didn’t have as big an entry as usual this year. This aside, the boys and girls of ERGS put in some excellent performances.
All of our relay teams progressed through their heats to compete in the finals. Unfortunately, they were all just shy of a medal placing with the Mini girls and boys coming 4th and the junior girls coming 5th after a last minute injury replacement in the final. The Junior boys however were successful, placing 3rd and earning a place in the Ulsters.
Almost all of our athletes placed in the top 6 in their events which is a very creditable performance.
The following is a list of those who placed well, or have won a place in the Ulster athletics competition on 20th May:-
