Enniskillen Royal Grammar School welcomed Regent House this weekend. The weather played along and the first half was started in the sunshine. Enniskillen Royal got off to a flying start putting Regent House under tremendous pressure, the ball was turned over and some good interplay between backs and forwards saw captain Andrew Crawford power over the line to open the scoring. Reece Smyton converted to make it 7-0 in favour of the Royal school. Enniskillen Royal put in a huge defensive effort and managed to gain a penalty which Smyton converted to leave the score 10-0.
Enniskillen Royal enjoyed the majority of the possession in the 2nd half and pressured the Regent line, this led to a penalty try just before half time with Smyton converting to leave the half time score 17-0.
The second half saw a spirited comeback from Regent and they scored a well worked forward’s try to make the score 17-5. The Royal school dominated proceedings in the latter part of the second half and this led to a score by winger Johnny Irvine to leave the score 22-5.
The last 5 minutes saw Regent house throw everything they had at the Royal school, however a excellent defensive effort by Enniskillen Royal kept them from scoring anymore points and the match finished 22-5 in favour of Enniskillen Royal Grammar School.
