The ERGS Med XV posted a confidence boosting victory against Banbridge Academy on Saturday at the Eisenhower playing fields after sustaining multiple injuries and defeats on the road in the previous two fixtures. Despite having the ‘lions share’ of the possession the Enniskillen boys were unable to make any impression on the score board in the first half hour due to numerous errors. However shortly after the break ERGS second row Havers was driven over the line to mark his Birthday with his first ever try for the school. This proved to be the spark which the team needed and with the forwards starting to dominate, the backs were eager to show what they could do with full back Malone going in for a solo effort five minutes later. Captain Mills then added to the score line with a well taken try of his own, bursting through in the midfield before adding the extras. Malone completed his brace from a well worked move carving open the Banbridge defence and dotting down between the sticks with Mills converting to complete the scoring. Unfortunately lack of concentration in the dying minutes of the game led to the visitors grabbing a consolation try.
