Despite the score line, this was a solid performance by the ERGS U14 squad. Armagh RS offered a well organised and physical side who were able to take advantage of a mistake made in the early part of the game to go 5 points ahead. However during the fist half the better rugby and consistent work rate came form the ERGS boys who keep Armagh within their own half and were eventually rewarded as Ethan Clarke powered through and over the line to collect 5 points and bring the score line level.
In the second half, both sides played well with numerous exchanges of attacking play. The ERGS set pieces worked well but as players began to tire, it was the visitors who were quicker to respond to the rucks and as ERGS runners became isolated Armagh capitalised on turnover ball. Up until the last 5 mins of the game there were only 2 tries in it and the ERGS boys were showing no sign giving up. But in the dying minutes it was Armagh who managed to keep the pace of play up and ran in two successive scores to cement a final 27-5 defeat.
