Affiliated NI Netball schools were invited to buy schoolgirl tickets to watch 3 matches on one of the 5 days of the Tournament and to be Ball girls during one of these matches.
We chose the 6th March so we could watch the following teams – Isle of Man vs Gibraltar ( 32-42) Rep of Ireland vs Northern Ireland (31-41) and Scotland vs UAE (59-40). 7 of our Year 10s were ball girls for the first match .
Needless to say, it was an amazing day and the girls represented their school extremely well. I was very proud to be in charge of such enthusiastic and well-behaved young ladies. I know myself, Miss Porter and Mrs McCordick all enjoyed the day, gaining lots of training and match play tips. The girls too were happily discussing the various merits (or otherwise) of close marking and the speed and agility of the players.
Thank-you to Netball NI for the super excuse to watch fantastic Netball from our developing NI Warriors and from all the other European teams who are taking part.
Also.. massive well done to Miss Porter on winning the ‘Chuck a duck’ prize at half time!!!
