On Saturday 19th October, Enniskillen Royal headed once again to The Meadows in Craigavon for their 3rd of 6 competitions.
This week, due to injury to a horse, we only entered a Novice and an Open team – no Premier Class.
Our Novice team comprised:-
Rianna Mulligan on Marble (back from injury at a previous competition), Lucie-Anne Abbott on Louie, Tiana-Grace Abbott on Valley Clover Dream (fresh from jumping earlier in the morning at an SJI event in Portmore) and Natalie Somerville on Coco ( a last minute replacement on a loaned pony, due to another injury.)
All the riders performed strongly in their timed phase, with a clear round and posting strong times. Unfortunately, 3 riders incurred faults in their first phase, thus pushing us out of the placings again this week. Kudos must be given to Tiana-Grace for posting a fabulous time of 23 seconds and a double clear round.
Our Open Team comprised:-
Adrianna Hurst on Cheeky Blonde, Patrick Williams on Coill Dearmad William, Sasha Milne on Buddy (beginning his comeback to 1m jumping) and Sophia Williams on Clonlee Red River.
Once again, we had a strong team effort. Each rider pushing their horses for a speedy time, which unfortunately resulted in the odd error. As with the previous team, 3 riders incurred faults which pushed the team out of placings this week. A great ride for Patrick Williams who has been working on his form – this resulted in a double clear in a strong time.
Thanks to a successful funding bid within the school, all the ERGS riders will be able to avail of a coaching session during half term – just in time for the 4th Leg on 2nd November.
So…finally, well done to all for their effort and commitment as usual – and naturally, a special thanks to the parents for their support.
