Saturday 21st September saw our intrepid Showjumpers take to the Meadows Arena again for the start of this year’s Tri-Equestrian League.
We entered a Novice team, 2 Individuals at 1m and one Individual at 1m 10. No Open team this week due to other commitments.
Our Novice team comprised Tiana-Grace Abbott on Valley Clover Dream who led the team off with a superb double clear round in a speedy time of 25 secs; Hannah Jones on Rocket – another solid round with only 4 faults (1 error) in the 1stsection and a clear in the speed section, with a time of 30 secs; Rianna Mulligan ( fresh into Year 8 ) on Marble, with a good round also of only 8 faults (2 errors) in a time of 30 secs; Lucie-Anne Abbott ( also fresh into Year 8) on Louierounding the team competition off with a double clear in 30 secs again. Excellent jumping from these 4 Riders resulting in a 6th place finish and Rosettes for the team.
Later in the afternoon we had Natalie Somerville and Patrick Williams jumping in the 1m Open Individual Competition. Natalie was having a super ride when unfortunately, a turn was taken too tight causing ISHD Convoy to struggle with one of the jumps, ending Natalie’s ride in that competition. Non-plussed, Patrick and Coill Dearmad William took to the arena and got around the course with only 4 faults and a time of 31 secs.
The final competition was the Premier 1m 10 and once again, Natalie and ISHD Convoy were in the Arena. This time, learning from the previous competition, Natalie and her horse executed a perfect ride – double clear in 40 secs
Congratulations to all the riders and thanks to their parents as always for their support.
Next Tri-League competition is on Saturday 5th October.
Next Inter-schools is Thursday 26th September in Fintona – the Omagh High School Show.
We wish the teams/Individuals good luck in these competitions.
