Irish Minor Schools Championships 2023
This took place on Saturday 25th March 2023 at the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin. Two swimmers from Enniskillen Royal Grammar had qualified back in October 2022 and were high with excitement as the headed off to The National Aquatic Centre in Dublin for the first time. The swimmers were determined to represent the Ulster well on their debut.
Jessica Millar (Year 8) swam in her favoured stroke, breaststroke gaining a new PB and knocking almost 4 seconds off her time. Jessica was pleased to be placed first in her heat of 50m breast stroke and overall just outside the top twenty in the under twelve breaststroke. Erin Salcedo (Year 8) also representing ERGS competed in two events. In 100m IM she got a PB of 2.70 seconds finishing just outside the top twenty while in 50m freestyle, she also had PB of 1.17 seconds again just finishing outside the top twenty but was very happy to find that she secured a time for summer nationals in June.
Senior schools Interpro
Ellie Dunlop also represented Enniskillen Royal Grammar School for the Swim Ulster Schools Interpro Team 2023 having been selected based on her performance at the Swim Ulster Senior Schools Cup & Championships which was held at Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex on the 4th Feb 2022. Ellie along with other Enniskillen Lakelanders swam extremely well representing Ulster but unfortunately Leinster ran out winners on this occasion.
