On Tuesday 22 March 2016 the Tag Rugby team ran out at Kingspan Stadium in their eighth Ulster Championship final. Cheered on by their seven busloads of supporters they won through in a tightly fought match against a valiant Ballyclare High School side to bring home their seventh Ulster title in this, their last match in the Collegiate red and green.
This year the first Contact 7’s rugby has been brought into schools and the Ulster Final blitz was run on Wednesday 20th April. The Under 15’s team drew one match and won the rest playing some exciting rugby. The Under 18’s team won all their matches and now progress to the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday 27th April to play in the Provincial Final groups against teams from Munster, Leinster and Connacht, culminating in an All-Ireland Schools 7’s Champion. We wish them every success.
There is no doubt that the future of ladies rugby is an exciting and promising one in Enniskillen Royal Grammar School.
