10 Crews from ERBC competed at Lagan Head of the River last Saturday and they won 5 categories. The Women’s and the Men’s Junior 15 and Junior 16 crews all had great wins along with Chloe Simmons and Lin Zhang who won the WJ15 2X.
In Race 1 the Women’s Junior 15 Eight of Tori Davis, Emily Black, Darcy Balfour, Abbie McCarthy Magwood, Amy Williamson, Aoibhin Campbell, Grace Collins, Brooke Davis and cox Errie Powell won their category as did the Men’s J15 eight of Cillian Donaghy, Oliver McNeary, Cameron Bell, Joshua Ihnat, Aiden Chen, Shane O’Donnell, Matthew Montgomery, Olie Powell and cox Jacob Woods.
Chloe Simmons and Lin Zhang overcame the girls from Newry RC over the 2700m course to win in a time of 17.07.9
In Race 2 the Women’s Junior 16 Eight Tori Davis, Sienna Howe, Zara Lindsay, Mya Morris, Meabh Murphy, Lin Zhang, Emily Black and Cox Errie Powell overcame the challenge from Coleraine Grammar School and Neptune RC to finish in a time of 20.15.7, almost 35 seconds ahead.
The Men’s Junior 16 Eight of Cillian Donaghy, Olie Powell, Joshua Ihnat, Jamie Dunlop, Ben Cameron, Matthew Montgomery, Bruno Maguire Favro, Harley Sheppard and cox Jacob Woods beat the boys from Coleraine Grammar School by 31 seconds to take the win over the 4200m course to the finish line at Belfast Rowing Club
