ERBC had 4 crews racing at Lough Rinn Grand League Regatta on Saturday over a full 2k course.
The Men’s Junior Eight – Evan Donaghy, Lorcan Sreenivasan, Luke Bailey, Austin Cassidy, Christian Timoney, Andrew Cuthbertson, William Bogle, Ryan Topping and cox Abbey Wilson had a great win in the fastest time of the regatta, 5.58.0 which was 5.1 seconds ahead of the boys from Neptune RC and 5.8 seconds ahead of Methodist College, Belfast.
The Men’s Junior 16 Eight – Evan Clarke, Cillian Donaghy, Joshua Ihnat, Oliver Jennings, Andries Ferreira, Joel Crean, Matthew Montgomery, Olie Powell and cox Rachel Cathcart also won after a great final in a time of 6.32.5 overcoming the crews from St Joseph’s by 13.5 seconds and Galway RC.
The Men’s Junior 18 Coxless quad – Harry Coalter, Jake Sembhi, Harley Sheppard and Charlie Lynn qualified for the A Final after their Head and finished the final in a time of 6.54.8.
The Women’s Junior Eight – Kate Huddlestone, Emily Black, Naomi Robinson, Isabella Wright, Zara Welsh, Rhea Cartin McCloskey, Ruby Hamill, Eva Johnston and cox Jessica Thompson were unfortunately the only J18 8+ crew racing on Saturday but it was very important side by side regatta course racing experience for them in their new eight, Queen Maeve ahead of National Schools Regatta in Nottingham on 24th/25th May. They raced in a time of 6.53.3 just a half a second behind the Women’s Club Eight from St Michael’s RC.
