The Confucius Institute of Northern Ireland, based at the University of Ulster, offered our pupils the opportunity to attend a cultural workshop after school on Thursday 27th April. Eight of our Key Stage 3 pupils signed up and enjoyed an afternoon of arts, crafts and games under the guidance of Ms ZHANG Heng and Ms CHEN Ying (one of our weekly Mandarin tutors).
The pupils got the opportunity to create artworks of Plum Blossom using their newly found skill of ink blowing. This was followed by learning how to do Chinese name calligraphy and Chinese panda painting. To finish off the session, the pupils played Chinese games and had a lot of fun perfecting handkerchief spinning and shuttlecock.
