Newry Head of the River took place last Saturday and ERBC took 8 wins over the two races including fastest crew overall for the boys in both races. In Race 1 Evan Donaghy, Ryan Topping, Luke Bailey, Austin Cassidy, Christian Timoney, Andrew Cuthbertson, Cillian Donaghy, Lorcan Sreenivasan and Abbey Wilson won the Men’s Senior Eight by over 10 secs ahead of the 2 Trinity BC and the boys from Neptune RC finishing the race in a time of 14.42.5.
In Race 2 the boys took the Men’s Club 1 Eights category win over Trinity BC by 38.5 secs finishing in a time of 14.45.0.
Claire Walsh, Hannah Armstrong, Naomi Robinson, Clodagh Donaghy, Rhea Cartin McCloskey, Sienna Howe, Zara Welsh, Maeve Murphy and cox Jessica Thompson won the Club Eight in Race 1 in a great time of 16.44.2, they were the fastest Women’s crew in Race 1.
The Men’s J15 4X+ crew Josh Allen, Oliver Collins, Levi Thompson, Eli Irvine and Freya McNeary had a great race finishing in a time of 17.19.7 beating the crews from Methody, Offaly RC and Newry RC.
Men’s Junior 16 Octo Evan Clarke, Oliver Jennings, Joel Crean, James McAleer, Reece Brady, Caelan Moore, Harry Welsh, Edward Dawa and cox Leah Topping took the category win in Race 1.
Women’s J16 Eight Eva Fowler, Kaityln Read, Holly Shaw, Beth Bradley. Sophie Collum, Michaela Ihnat, Cadence Binu, Hannah Keaney and cox Nicole Graham took the category win over the crew from Coleraine GS in a time of 18.32.1
Evan Clarke, Josh Allen, Oliver Collins, Oliver Jennings, Caelan Moore, Joel Crean, Reece Brady, Harry Welsh and Ollie Powell took the Men’s Junior 16 Eights win in Race 2 over Coleraine GS in a time of 15.54.3 by almost 2 minutes.
Women’s Junior 15 4X+ Beth Bradley, Sophia Latimer, Holly Shaw, Michaela Ihnat and Cox Hollie Sharpe beat the crews from Commercial RC, Bann RC and Methody to win in a time of 20.23.8 in Race 2
